Sashadhar Senapati- an Obituary note

http://niyatibls.blogspot.com/2006/05/shashadhar-senapati.html

He was born a Zamindar's eldest son after 5 sisters. And Gangadhar Senapati the last Zamindar of Seragarh and his wife Labanya along with their 5 daughters had brought him up with a lot of affection. But the times were changing and he couldn't be a Zamindar like his father. With the Indian State getting independence, Sashadhar faced a lot of hurdles in his early life to keep the family property and later was an emotional poet depicting the frustrations in life. Though the sisters and younger brother left Seragarh for Balasore town he stayed at the Seragarh residence and was given company by wife and his younger son and his family. This man always wanted the whole family to be under one roof and remain one family after his father's death which probably the changing times didn't allow. Shashadhar Senapati was a man who loved food and more than that loved to feed.Anyone who has visited Seragarh will vouch for it. Though managed everything from cultivation, he used to live life with honor. Suffered a stroke on 30th December 2009 at the age of 72 years. Though initially he was in critical condition, his condition improved with treatment at Balasore District HQ Hospital and was shifted to the residence of his eldest son. But all of a sudden passed away in the afternoon of 9th January 2010.
It has been a great shock to 5 of his surviving elder sisters as to a host close family members, relations and a lot of people around Seragarh and in Balasore including a group of lovers of Oriya poetry.
May his soul rest in peace and may God help his bereaved relations courage to face this great loss.
